SIT Community Challenge

Who We Are

The SIT Community Challenge (SITCC) is a youth programme organised by the Singapore Institute of Technology's Community Engagement Division. It brings students together to address real-world community challenges through applied learning, design thinking and innovation.

SITCC empowers young minds to move beyond the classroom, applying technology and creative communication to improve the daily lives of Singaporeans. Through mentorship, hands-on prototyping and public presentation, participants develop skills that extend far beyond the competition itself.

Our Three Pillars

Engaging Youth

SITCC brings together secondary school, junior college and ITE students to tackle real-world community challenges through applied learning and teamwork.

Community Impact

Teams address pressing public transport issues, developing solutions that could improve the daily commute for thousands of Singaporeans.

Thought Leadership

The programme positions SIT as a leader in community-engaged applied learning, bridging academic excellence with civic responsibility.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

SITCC is built on the belief that the most powerful learning happens when students engage with real communities. The programme connects faculty, student mentors, industry partners and community organisations in a collaborative ecosystem.

Faculty provide academic guidance and design-thinking frameworks. Student mentors from SIT's degree programmes support teams throughout the challenge. Industry and community partners contribute real-world problems, data and domain expertise.
